2011 Crude Oil Spread Betting Forecasts

Global crude oil supplies could peak by 2035 when crude oil prices are going to surpass $200 per barrel, the International Energy Agency said in a report recently, as China and the emerging markets drive demand higher.
The International Energy Agency, in its 2010 World Energy Outlook report, said regular output had peaked and would be likely to level-out in the course of the next decade. Consequently, this would increase the reliance on more costly & more polluting non-traditional options which include 'oil sands'.
In addition, the IEA, which advises developed countries, increased its mid-term & long-term crude oil price estimates, in spite of slashing oil demand forecasts by 2035. The key reason for the increase is due to question marks concerning supply. The statement explained that prices will probably climb even more if governments don't act to reduce consumption levels.
The demand for OPEC's main product will probably be higher than predicted over the coming 12 months as global economic growth accelerates due to the aid of government stimulus programmes, the cartel said recently. The strengthening economic outlook for many of the rich economies of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) was an important factor powering the sharp upwards changes to forecasts, the oil producing group stated.
If you are looking to place spread bets on the oil markets, be aware that OPEC raised its guide of worldwide crude oil demand growth for 2011 by around 120,000 bpd and currently expects a rise of approximately 1.15m barrels per day in world-wide crude oil usage this year compared with 2010.
Overall, the groups estimates for the commodity were more modest than other analysts and forecasters, many of which think consumption will be much higher as emerging economies, particularly Latin America and the Far East, absorb the extra resources.
