It can be useful to open a fixed odds account in addition to your spread betting accounts.

Sometimes you might like to hedge an unpleasant scenario in which case you could use a ‘One Touch’ bet, ie a fixed odds trade that pays out if the market hits the specified level within the chosen time frame.

Sometimes the markets are simply trading and re-trading the same range in which case you could use a ‘Barrier Range Trade’ or ‘No Touch Range’. As the names suggest these are used to make money from range-bound markets. You win if the market does not hit either the specified higher or lower levels during the period of the bet.

There are also extremely short term trades (Flash Trades) as well as simple Bull trades and Bear Trades as well as a host of other options.

Bull / Bear Bets

As you may have guessed, these are useful during Bull and Bear markets. The trades let you profit if the market is either above or below a certain level at the end of the trade.
