Weak HSBC Results Weigh on FTSE Index: Spread Betting News

A set of disappointing figures from HSBC is dragging on the FTSE this morning, as investors take their profits from a recent bullish run.

Miners are trading strongly at the moment, despite continuing Dollar strength, after the Chilean earthquake shut down production in parts of the country.

There is a raft of economic data out today so we could easily see some volatility in the markets if they fall short of expectations.
