IG Index has rolled out the latest addition to its suite of mobile dealing applications, the iPad app.
IG Index clients can now choose from an array of spread betting apps that have been comprehensively tailored to run on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone 7, along with the increasingly popular iPad tablet computer.
According to Tim Hughes, Managing Director of IG, commented, “Over the last year, we have seen a 300% increase in mobile dealing and the majority of this has come from orders placed on the iPhone.
“We are confident that the iPad’s bigger screen and the accompanying improvements in functionality will make this application just as popular."

And it looks like most of the large firms have caught up with IG and now offer spread betting apps for the iPad:
Note that non-clients can download the iPad app for free and access live market data, from the FTSE 100 and commodities to forex and more.
Tim Hughes had this to add, "The iPhone may be leading market share for us right now, but in the three months since we launched our Android app we have seen a significant number of downloads. We’ve also launched our Windows Phone 7 app this month.
“It is clearly premature to suggest that dealing on a desktop computer has had its day, but clients are certainly eager to see what can be done using complementary platforms."
The latest iPad usage statistics estimate that 3.62m people currently own tablet computers in the UK, with Apple having a 73% share.
Forecasts state that a further two million devices will be sold in the country during 2012.
