SAVVY SPREAD BETTORS PILE INTO EQUITIES AND INDICES
Paddypowertrader says shares and indices still appeal to retail investors
Paddy Power’s new financial spread betting venture, Paddypowertrader has been tracking the movements of its client base over the past week to reveal startling retail investment trends. Paddypowertrader has seen indices such as FTSE and DJIA jostle for position to become prime destinations for spread betting funds.
“With crude oil prices rising to over $120 dollars per barrel and food prices heading skywards too, it is interesting that retail investors still prefer to trade equities and indices,” said Davin McAnaney, Commercial Manager of Paddypowertrader.

AIB, HSBC, Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish Bank are still the most popular trades for Irish spread bettors. The FTSE remains the most popular trade by far among our clientele but also high on the list for astute spread bettors are the Wall St or DJIA indices and to a lesser extent the DAX in Germany.
