1. How to Spread Bet on Accor shares?
Looking at the equities markets, at the moment, the price of the Accor Rolling Daily market is €36.52 - €36.63 with capital spreads.
As with many equities listed on the European exchanges, an investor can place a spread bet on the Accor shares to rise or fall. With the Accor Rolling Daily market, investors can spread bet on:
a) Accor shares to increase above €36.63, or
b) Accor shares to decrease below €36.52.
Note that with the Accor market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Accor share price movement. As a brief example, if you had a stake of £4 per cent and the Accor share price moves 5c then that would make a difference to your profits (or losses) of £20.
Accor Equities Spread Betting Example
For example, let’s assume you see the real time price on a spread betting website and it gives a spread of €36.52 - €36.63. Following your analysis, you come to feel that the Accor shares will move higher than €36.63. Therefore:
- You believe the Accor share price will increase
- You want to go long of the market at €36.63 and invest £2 per cent
- The price of the shares rises with the spread moving to €37.22 - €37.33
- With the new spread you could choose to guarantee a profit and close your position. In order to do this you would sell at €37.22
- Buy price: €36.63
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = (€37.22 - €36.63) x £2 per cent
- P&L = €0.59 x £2 per cent
- P&L = 59c x £2 per cent
- P&L = £118 profit
Nevertheless, had the market failed to move as planned, and had the Accor shares decreased in value, with the spread decreasing to €36.08 - €36.19, then you may choose to settle your bet and restrict your loss. To do this you would sell at €36.08.
- You bought the spread bet at €36.63
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = (€36.08 - €36.63) x £2 per cent
- P&L = -€0.55 x £2 per cent
- P&L = -55c x £2 per cent
- P&L = -£110 loss
