1. How to Spread Bet on Adidas shares?
Looking at the equities markets, at the moment, the price of the Adidas Rolling Daily market is €38.73 - €38.84 with Spreads Firms firms like Capitalspreads.
Like most large cap equities listed on the European stock exchanges, you can speculate on the Adidas shares either increasing or decreasing. With the Adidas Rolling Daily market, an investor can bet on:
a) Adidas shares to increase above €38.84, or
b) Adidas shares to decrease below €38.73.
It should be noted that with the Adidas market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Adidas share movement. As a quick example, if you invested £4 per cent and the Adidas stock moved 5c then you would see a change to your bottom line of £20.
Adidas Equities Spread Betting Example
As a brief example, let’s say you see the real time price on a spread trading website and it shows the current spread of €38.73 - €38.84. So, following your research, you could come to think that the Adidas share price will increase and move higher than €38.84. Therefore:
- You think that the Adidas shares will increase
- Therefore, you decide you are going to ‘buy’ the market at €38.84 and invest £2 per cent
- The market increases and the spread becomes €39.40 - €39.51
- Therefore, you can choose to take your profit and close your position by selling at €39.40
- You bought the spread bet at €38.84
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = (€39.40 - €38.84) x £2 per cent
- P&L = €0.56 x £2 per cent
- P&L = 56c x £2 per cent
- P&L = £112 profit
However, if the trade did not work as forecast, and had the Adidas shares decreased in value, with the market going down to €38.32 - €38.43, then you can decide to settle your bet and restrict your losses. To do this you would sell at €38.32.
- Price you bought the spread bet at: €38.84
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = (€38.32 - €38.84) x £2 per cent
- P&L = -€0.52 x £2 per cent
- P&L = -52c x £2 per cent
- P&L = -£104 loss
