1. How to Spread Bet on AT&T shares?
Looking at the equities markets, the current price of the AT&T Rolling Daily market is $27.58 - $27.63 with spread betting firms like Tradefair.
As with the majority of leading shares listed on the stock exchanges, investors can spread bet on the AT&T shares to rise or fall in value. With the AT&T Rolling Daily market, an investor can speculate on:
a) AT&T shares to rise above $27.63, or
b) AT&T shares to fall below $27.58.
With the AT&T market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1¢ of AT&T share price movement. As an example, if you were to invest £4 per cent and the AT&T stock moves 4¢ then your profits (or losses) would alter by £16.
AT&T Equities Spread Trading Example
As a quick example, let’s say you see the live price on a spread betting website and it shows the current spread of $27.58 - $27.63. Having done your market research, you could come to think that the AT&T share price could go higher than $27.63. This means:
- You think that the AT&T shares will increase
- Therefore, you want to ‘buy’ the market at $27.63 and you bet £2 per cent
- The share price rises and the spread becomes $28.18 - $28.23
- As a result, you can decide to take your profit and close your position by selling at $28.18
- Buy price: $27.63
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($28.18 - $27.63) x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = $0.55 x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = 55¢ x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = £110 profit
However, if the trade did not move as forecast, and had the AT&T shares decreased in value, with the market going down to $27.13 - $27.18, then you could decide to close your bet and prevent any further losses. You would do this by selling at $27.13.
- Your initial buy price: $27.63
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($27.13 - $27.63) x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -$0.50 x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -50¢ x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -£100 loss
