1. How to Spread Bet on Caterpillar shares?

- Price you bought the market at: $58.23
- Profit / Loss = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profit / Loss = ($58.81 - $58.23) x £2 per cent
- Profit / Loss = $0.58 x £2 per cent
- Profit / Loss = 58¢ x £2 per cent
- Profit / Loss = £116 profit
Investments don’t always go to plan. If the market failed to move as forecast, and had the Caterpillar stock decreased in value, with the market decreasing to $57.59 - $57.66, then you might choose to settle your bet and prevent any more losses. You would do this by selling at $57.59.
- Initial price you bought the spread bet at: $58.23
- Profit / Loss = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profit / Loss = ($57.59 - $58.23) x £2 per cent
- Profit / Loss = -$0.64 x £2 per cent
