1. How to Spread Bet on DCC shares?
The current price of the DCC Rolling Daily market is €20.87 - €20.94 with spread betting companies such as paddypowertrader.
As with the majority of European shares listed on the stock exchanges, investors can place a spread bet on the DCC shares either increasing or decreasing. With the DCC Rolling Daily market, an investor can speculate on:
a) DCC shares to go above €20.94, or
b) DCC shares to go below €20.87.
It should be noted that with the DCC market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of DCC share movement. For example, if you had a stake of £6 per cent and the DCC share price moves 5c then your bottom line would alter by £30.
DCC Shares Trading Example
As an example, let’s assume you see the real time price on a spread betting website and it gives the current spread of €20.87 - €20.94. After your market research, you think that the DCC shares is going to go higher than €20.94. Therefore:
- You believe the DCC share price will go up
- Therefore, you want to go long of the market at €20.94 and you risk £3 per cent
- The market increases and the spread becomes €21.25 - €21.32
- With the new price you could choose to guarantee a profit and close your bet. You would do this by selling at €21.25
- Your initial buy price = €20.94
- Profit/Loss = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€21.25 - €20.94) x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = €0.31 x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = 31c x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = £93 profit
Nevertheless, if the trade did not work as forecast, and had the DCC shares decreased in price, with the spread dropping to €20.57 - €20.64, then you may choose to settle your position and stop any more losses. In order to do this you would sell at €20.57.
- Your initial buy price: €20.94
- Profit/Loss = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€20.57 - €20.94) x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -€0.37 x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -37c x £3 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -£111 loss
