1. How to Spread Bet on Deutsche Telekom shares?
At the time of writing, the price of the Deutsche Telekom Rolling Daily market is €10.06 - €10.10 with spread betting companies such as Tradefair.
Like many shares listed on the European exchanges, an investor can place a spread bet on the Deutsche Telekom shares to go up or down. With the Deutsche Telekom Rolling Daily market, you can spread bet on:
a) Deutsche Telekom shares to increase higher than €10.10, or
b) Deutsche Telekom shares to decrease lower than €10.06.
It should be noted that with the Deutsche Telekom market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Deutsche Telekom share movement. For example, if your stake was £10 per cent and the Deutsche Telekom stock moved 5c then your bottom line would change by £50.
Deutsche Telekom Equities Trading Example
Considering an example, let’s assume you see the real time price on an online spread betting website and it shows the current spread of €10.06 - €10.10. So, following your analysis of the markets, you may think that the Deutsche Telekom shares will go above €10.10. As a result:
- You believe that the Deutsche Telekom share price will rise
- As a result, you decide you want to go long of the market at €10.10 and risk £5 per cent
- The share price rises and so the market moves to €10.35 - €10.39
- With the new spread you could choose to guarantee a profit and close your bet. To do this you would sell at €10.35
- Initial price you bought the spread bet at: €10.10
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = (€10.35 - €10.10) x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = €0.25 x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = 25c x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = £125 profit
However, if the market failed to move as forecast, and had the Deutsche Telekom shares decreased in value, with the market dropping to €9.87 - €9.91, then you can choose to settle your bet and restrict your loss by selling at €9.87.
- You bought the spread bet at €10.10
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = (€9.87 - €10.10) x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -€0.23 x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -23c x £5 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -£115 loss
