1. How to Spread Bet on Dow Chemical shares?
At the time of writing, the price of the Dow Chemical Rolling Daily market is $27.50 - $27.53 with Financial Spreads.
Like most large cap shares listed on the leading exchanges, investors can speculate on the Dow Chemical shares either increasing or decreasing in value. With this Dow Chemical Rolling Daily market, an investor can spread bet on:
a) Dow Chemical shares to rise above $27.53, or

As a brief example, let’s say you see the live price on an online spread betting website that shows the current spread of $27.50 - $27.53. So, after your analysis of the markets, you could feel that the Dow Chemical share price will go higher than $27.53. As a result:
- You think the Dow Chemical shares should go up
- Therefore, you want to ‘buy’ the market at $27.53 and you invest £2 per cent
- The market rises and so the spread changes to $27.92 - $27.95
- Therefore, you could decide to take a profit and settle your position. To do this you would sell at $27.92
- You initially bought the spread bet at $27.53
- P&L = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- P&L = ($27.92 - $27.53) x £2 per cent
- P&L = $0.39 x £2 per cent
- P&L = 39¢ x £2 per cent
- P&L = £78 profit
Nevertheless, had the market failed to move as predicted, and had the Dow Chemical stock decreased in value, with the spread dropping to $27.17 - $27.20, then you might choose to close your position and prevent any further losses. In order to do this you would sell at $27.17.
- Initial buy price: $27.53
- P&L = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- P&L = ($27.17 - $27.53) x £2 per cent
- P&L = -$0.36 x £2 per cent
- P&L = -36¢ x £2 per cent
- P&L = -£72 loss
