1. How to Spread Bet on EMC shares?
Looking at the equities markets, at the moment, the price of the EMC Rolling Daily market is $16.73 - $16.76 with spread trading firms such as Financial Spreads.
Like most large cap shares listed on the leading exchanges, investors can spread bet on the EMC shares either increasing or decreasing in value. With the EMC Rolling Daily market, you can bet on:
a) EMC shares to rise above $16.76, or
b) EMC shares to fall below $16.73.

- You believe that the EMC share price should rise
- Therefore, you decide you want to go long of the market at $16.76 and you bet £3 per cent
- The price of the shares increases and the spread moves to $17.01 - $17.04
- With the new price you may choose to take a profit and settle your position. To do this you would sell at $17.01
- You bought the market at $16.76
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($17.01 - $16.76) x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = $0.25 x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = 25¢ x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = £75 profit
Spread bets don’t always go to plan. If the trade did not work as planned, and had the EMC share price decreased, with the spread dropping to $16.48 - $16.51, then you might choose to close your position and prevent any more losses. In order to do this you would sell at $16.48.
- Your initial buy price: $16.76
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($16.48 - $16.76) x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -$0.28 x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -28¢ x £3 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -£84 loss
