1. How to Spread Bet on General Electric shares?

As with the majority of leading shares listed on the exchanges, an investor can bet on the General Electric shares to rise or fall in value. With the General Electric Rolling Daily market, you can place a spread bet on:

- As a result, you might decide to guarantee a profit and close your bet. To do this you would sell at $16.36
- Price you bought the spread bet at: $15.77
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($16.36 - $15.77) x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = $0.59 x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = 59¢ x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = £118 profit
Investing does not always go to plan. If the trade didn’t work as forecasted, and had the General Electric shares decreased in value, with the spread moving down to $15.22 - $15.25, then you can choose to settle your bet and restrict your loss. You would do this by selling at $15.22.
- You bought the market at $15.77
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($15.22 - $15.77) x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = -$0.55 x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = -55¢ x £2 per cent stake
- Profits (or losses) = -£110 loss
