1. How to Spread Bet on Glanbia shares?
The current spread betting price of the Glanbia Rolling Daily market is €2.64 - €2.80 with firms such as Paddypowertrader.
As with many equities listed on the European exchanges, investors can spread bet on the Glanbia shares to go up or down. With the Glanbia Rolling Daily market, you can bet on:
a) Glanbia shares to increase higher than €2.80, or
b) Glanbia shares to decrease lower than €2.64.
Note that with the Glanbia market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Glanbia share movement. For example, if you were to invest £10 per cent and the Glanbia stock moves 5c then your profits/losses would alter by £50.
Glanbia Shares Trading Example
As an example, let’s assume you see the real time price on an online spread betting website that shows the current spread of €2.64 - €2.80. Following your market analysis, you may think that the Glanbia shares will increase and go above €2.80. Therefore:
- You think that the Glanbia share price should go up
- Therefore, you choose to go long of the market at €2.80 and you bet £5 per cent
- The market rises and so the market moves to €2.98 - €3.14
- With the new spread you could choose to take your profit and close your bet. To do this you would sell at €2.98
- Initial buy price = €2.80
- Profit/Loss = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€2.98 - €2.80) x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = €0.18 x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = 18c x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = £90 profit
Investments don’t always go to plan. If the trade did not work as planned, and had the Glanbia shares decreased in price, with the market going down to €2.60 - €2.76, then you might decide to close your position and restrict your losses. In order to do this you would sell at €2.60.
- You initially bought the spread at €2.80
- Profit/Loss = (Final Price - Initial Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€2.60 - €2.80) x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -€0.20 x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -20c x £5 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -£100 loss
