How Do I Spread Bet on Irish Shares?
Currently, the price of the Kerry Group Rolling Daily market is €25.41 - €25.50 with spread trading firms like Tradefair.
As with many shares listed on the European stock exchanges, an investor can bet on the Kerry Group shares to go up or down. With this Kerry Group Rolling Daily market, you can place a spread bet on:
a) Kerry Group shares to move above €25.50, or
b) Kerry Group shares to move below €25.41.
It should be noted that with the Kerry Group market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Kerry Group share price movement. As a brief example, if your stake was £4 per cent and the Kerry Group shares move 5c then that would be a difference to your profits (or losses) of £20.
Kerry Group Equities Trading Example
For example, let’s assume you see the live price on an online spread betting website that shows the spread of €25.41 - €25.50. Having done suitable market analysis, you could come to feel that the Kerry Group share price will increase and move above €25.50. This means:
- You believe the Kerry Group shares should increase
- As a result, you decide you want to go long of, or buy, the market at €25.50 and invest £2 per cent
- The price of the shares rises and so the market changes to €26.14 - €26.23
- Therefore, you can choose to take a profit and settle your bet. You would do this by selling at €26.14
- Your initial buy price: €25.50
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Level - Opening Level) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€26.14 - €25.50) x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = €0.64 x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = 64c x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = £128 profit
However, if the trade didn’t work as forecasted, and had the Kerry Group shares decreased in value, with the market moving down to €24.93 - €25.02, then you may choose to settle your position and stop any more losses. To do this you would sell at €24.93.
- Initial buy price = €25.50
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Level - Opening Level) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€24.93 - €25.50) x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -€0.57 x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -57c x £2 per cent
- Profit/Loss = -£114 loss
