1. How to Spread Bet on Kraft Foods shares?

Like the majority of leading shares listed on the exchanges, investors can spread bet on the Kraft Foods shares to rise or fall in value. With this Kraft Foods Rolling Daily market, an investor can place a spread bet on:
a) Kraft Foods shares to increase above $26.86, or
b) Kraft Foods shares to decrease below $26.81.

- The market rises and so the spread changes to $27.40 - $27.45
- With this new price you might decide to take your profit and settle your position. To do this you would sell at $27.40
- Buy price = $26.86
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = ($27.40 - $26.86) x £2 per cent
- P&L = $0.54 x £2 per cent
- P&L = 54¢ x £2 per cent
- P&L = £108 profit
However, if the trade did not work as planned, and had the Kraft Foods shares decreased in price, with the market decreasing to $26.35 - $26.40, then you might choose to settle your bet and prevent any more losses. You would do this by selling at $26.35.
- You initially bought the market at $26.86
- P&L = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- P&L = ($26.35 - $26.86) x £2 per cent
- P&L = -$0.51 x £2 per cent
- P&L = -51¢ x £2 per cent
- P&L = -£102 loss
