1. How to Spread Bet on Linde shares?
The current price of the Linde Rolling Daily market is €83.73 - €83.92 with Tradefair.
As with most large cap shares listed on the European stock exchanges, investors can spread bet on the Linde shares either increasing or decreasing. With the Linde Rolling Daily market, an investor can place a spread bet on:
a) Linde shares to move higher than €83.92, or
b) Linde shares to move lower than €83.73.
With the Linde market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Linde share price movement. As a quick example, if your stake was £2 per cent and the Linde share price moves 5c then that would result in a difference to your profits/losses of £10.
Linde Equities Spread Betting Example
As an example, let’s assume you see the live price on a spread betting website and it gives the current spread of €83.73 - €83.92. So, following your analysis, you could feel that the Linde share price will go higher than €83.92. As a result:
- You think the Linde shares should go up
- Therefore, you decide you are going to ‘buy’ the market at €83.92 and you bet £1 per cent
- The share price rises with the market changing to €85.42 - €85.61
- As a result, you can choose to take your profit and settle your bet. In order to do this you would sell at €85.42
- You initially bought the market at €83.92
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€85.42 - €83.92) x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = €1.50 x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = 150c x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = £150 profit
Spread bets don’t always go to plan. If the trade didn’t work as forecast, and had the Linde shares decreased in value, with the spread going down to €82.49 - €82.68, then you can decide to close your bet and prevent any further losses. You would do this by selling at €82.49.
- Initial price you bought the market at: €83.92
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (€82.49 - €83.92) x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = -€1.43 x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = -143c x £1 per cent stake
- Profit/Loss = -£143 loss
