1. How to Spread Bet on Pfizer shares?
Looking at the equities markets, at the moment, the price of the Pfizer Rolling Daily market is $18.28 - $18.31 with spread trading firms like TradefairSpreads.

- You think the Pfizer share price should go up
- As a result, you choose to go long of the market at $18.31 and you risk £2 per cent
- The price of the shares increases with the spread changing to $18.86 - $18.89
- Therefore, you can decide to take your profit and close your bet by selling at $18.86
- Initial buy price: $18.31
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($18.86 - $18.31) x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = $0.55 x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = 55¢ x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = £110 profit
Investments don’t always go to plan. If the trade did not work as predicted, and had the Pfizer stock decreased in value, with the spread decreasing to $17.81 - $17.84, then you could choose to settle your bet and restrict your loss. You would do this by selling at $17.81.
- You initially bought the spread at $18.31
- Profits (or losses) = (Final Level - Initial Level) x stake
- Profits (or losses) = ($17.81 - $18.31) x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -$0.50 x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -50¢ x £2 per cent
- Profits (or losses) = -£100 loss
