1. How to Spread Bet on Philips shares?
Currently, the price of the Philips Rolling Daily market is €22.21 - €22.27 with spread trading companies such as Capitalspreads.
Like many shares listed on the European stock exchanges, an investor can bet on the Philips shares to go up or down. With the Philips Rolling Daily market, investors can spread bet on:
a) Philips shares to increase above €22.27, or
b) Philips shares to decrease below €22.21.

As an example, let’s assume you see the real time price on a spread trading website that gives the current spread of €22.21 - €22.27. Following your market analysis, you might think that the Philips share price is going to move higher than €22.27. This would mean:
- You believe that the Philips shares will increase
- Therefore, you decide you are going to ‘buy’ the market at €22.27 and you invest £3 per cent
- The share price increases and so the spread changes to €22.64 - €22.70
- With this new spread you might choose to take your profit and settle your bet. In order to do this you would sell at €22.64
- Your initial buy price = €22.27
- Profit = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit = (€22.64 - €22.27) x £3 per cent stake
- Profit = €0.37 x £3 per cent stake
- Profit = 37c x £3 per cent stake
- Profit = £111 profit
Nevertheless, if the market failed to move as forecast, and had the Philips stock decreased in value, with the market moving down to €21.86 - €21.92, then you could choose to close your bet and prevent any further losses by selling at €21.86.
- Buy price = €22.27
- Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Loss = (€21.86 - €22.27) x £3 per cent stake
- Loss = -€0.41 x £3 per cent stake
- Loss = -41c x £3 per cent stake
- Loss = -£123 loss
