1. How to Spread Bet on Ryanair shares?
The current spread betting price of the Ryanair Rolling Daily market is €3.48 - €3.52 with capital spreads.
As with most large cap equities listed on the European stock exchanges, investors can place a spread bet on the Ryanair shares to go up or go down. With this Ryanair Rolling Daily market, you can speculate on:
a) Ryanair shares to increase above €3.52, or
b) Ryanair shares to decrease below €3.48.
It should be noted that with the Ryanair market you trade in £X per cent, where a cent is 1c of Ryanair share price movement. As a brief example, if your stake was £16 per cent and the Ryanair share price moved 5c then your bottom line would change by £80.
Ryanair Equities Spread Trading Example
As a quick example, let’s say you see the live price on an online spread betting website that gives the current spread of €3.48 - €3.52. So, having done suitable analysis of the markets, you feel that the Ryanair shares could go above €3.52. This implies:
- You think that the Ryanair share price will rise
- You choose to ‘buy’ the market at €3.52 and you bet £8 per cent
- The market rises with the market changing to €3.63 - €3.67
- With the new price you could choose to take a profit and settle your position. In order to do this you would sell at €3.63
- Your initial buy price = €3.52
- Profit = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit = (€3.63 - €3.52) x £8 per cent
- Profit = €0.11 x £8 per cent
- Profit = 11c x £8 per cent
- Profit = £88 profit
However, had the market failed to move as planned, and had the Ryanair shares decreased in value, with the spread going down to €3.40 - €3.44, then you might choose to close your position and stop any more losses. You would do this by selling at €3.40.
- You bought the spread at €3.52
- Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Loss = (€3.40 - €3.52) x £8 per cent
- Loss = -€0.12 x £8 per cent
- Loss = -12c x £8 per cent
- Loss = -£96 loss
