Spread Betting Comment - 5 February 10 - 7:45am
The FTSE has been seen opening lower this morning, adding to yesterdays sharps falls as concerns mounted ahead of the US Non-Farm payroll figures expected today at 13.30.
Miners are likely to be under pressure once again, as base metal prices slid overnight, and the banks are back in focus as concerns over exposure to European debt weigh.
On the corporate front, BG Group's 4Q results and British Airways' 3Q results and traffic statistics will be eyed.
UK January PPI is at 09.30; however, the main focus of the session will be on the US Non-farm payrolls data at 13.30.

Spread Betting Comment - 1 February 10 - 8:35am
European markets opened weaker this morning, tracking the US and Asia, although we have seen a small rally in early trading.
The Dow Jones was unable to hold onto gains on Friday as tech stocks weighed on the market.
On the other hand, China reported record industrial activity which prompted further worries that they would tighten economic policy soon.
There is also a stronger Dollar this morning, which is encouraging a small fall in some miners and oil companies.
