1. How to Spread Bet on Dollar / Polish Zloty?
At the moment, the price of the Dollar/Polish Zloty Rolling Daily market is 2.9110 zl - 2.9160 zl with firms like FinancialSpreads.
Like most forex rates, investors can spread bet on the Dollar/Polish Zloty pair either increasing or decreasing. With the Dollar/Polish Zloty Rolling Daily market, an investor can place a spread bet on:
a) The Dollar/Polish Zloty rate to increase higher than 2.9160 zl, or
b) The Dollar/Polish Zloty rate to decrease lower than 2.9110 zl.
It should be noted that with the Dollar/Polish Zloty market you trade in £X per point, where a point is 0.0001 zl of the Dollar/Polish Zloty rate movement. As an example, if you invested £2 per point and the Dollar/Polish Zloty market moves 0.0005 zl then you would see a change to your P&L of £10. 0.0005 zl = 5 points. 5 points x £2 per point = £10.
Dollar/Polish Zloty Forex Spread Trading Example
For example, let’s say you see the live price on a spread betting website that gives the spread of 2.9110 zl - 2.9160 zl. After your research, you could think that the Dollar/Polish Zloty pair will increase and go higher than 2.9160 zl. As a result:
- You believe the Dollar/Polish Zloty FX rate should go up
- As a result, you decide you want to ‘buy’ the market at 2.9160 zl and invest £1 per point
- The forex rate increases and so the market moves to 2.9306 zl - 2.9356 zl
- With this new spread you could decide to take a profit and close your position. You would do this by selling at 2.9306 zl
- Your initial buy price: 2.9160 zl
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (2.9306 zl - 2.9160 zl) x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = 0.0146 zl x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = 146 points x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = £146 profit
Spread bets don’t always go to plan. If the trade didn’t work as planned, and had the Dollar/Polish Zloty forex pair decreased, with the market decreasing to 2.9029 zl - 2.9079 zl, then you might choose to settle your bet and restrict your losses. To do this you would sell at 2.9029 zl.
- Price you bought the market at: 2.9160 zl
- Profit/Loss = (Closing Price - Opening Price) x stake
- Profit/Loss = (2.9029 zl - 2.9160 zl) x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = -$0.0131 x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = -131 points x £1 per point
- Profit/Loss = -£131 loss
