Spread betting firm Spreadex found itself in the spotlight after cameras rolled into the firm’s St Albans headquarters to film a profile video for the Daily Telegraph Business Club.
Spreadex was selected for the project due to the success and growth enjoyed by the company since forming in 1999.
The film is aimed at presenting a behind-the-scenes view of the bookmakers’ sports and financial trading floors and helping to explain more about exactly how spread betting works.
Spreadex spokesman Andy MacKenzie said: “Spread betting has risen in profile in recent months as an alternative investment opportunity amid the recession as stocks and shares fall and pension returns plummet.
“However, this visit was more to do with how Spreadex has managed to build itself up from humble beginnings 10 years ago and the day included interviews with key members of staff as well as footage of our traders in action on our sports and financial trading floors.
“The video is expected to be hosted on the Daily Telegraph’s website by the end of the month and hopefully it will help to explain the workings of spread betting to those not familiar with the practice.”
Spreadex was last month named as runner-up for ‘Online Betting Company of the Year’ at the inaugural Betview awards, being pipped to the title by established high street name Ladbrokes.
